Competencies are a set of demonstrable knowledge, skills, behaviors or attributes that enable or improve the performance of doing a job in a defined work setting. Competencies and competency models may be applicable to all employees or they may be position specific. It differentiates the organization from its competitors and provides a competitive advantage.
